Sexuality Liberators and Movers (SLAM) Virtual Symposium
The Colorado Sexual Health Initiative (CoSHI) Team is excited to share an upcoming conference opportunity for adults who work with and care for youth.
The Sexuality Liberators And Movers virtual symposium is for parents, teachers, sexuality educators and direct service adults who work with and care for young people. S.L.A.M. 4 Youth conference will be held virtually on Thursday, January 27 and Friday, January 28.
S.L.A.M.'s focus is shifting and moving sex education forward by centering the contributions, experiences, and expertise of educators of color, while challenging isms and institutions that keep sex education white-washed, fear-based and ineffective.
S.L.A.M. believes that young people (children, students and siblings) deserve sex education that centers and affirms them. With this goal in mind, conference organizer, Stephanie Zapata, has brought together some of the country’s top youth-centered BIPOC Sexperts.
The CoSHI team has participated in this virtual conference in the past, and the conference has always been a wonderful learning experience! We hope that others will be interested in attending and look forward to seeing some other Coloradans in attendance this year!
Dates: Thursday, January 27th and Friday, January 28th
Time: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM each day
Location: Virtual via Zoom platform
